Sedation Dentistry in Centennial, CO
Calm, comfortable appointments with nitrous oxide or oral sedation – no IV required.
If anxiety, a strong gag reflex, or past dental experiences make visits hard, we can help. Our dentists offer gentle numbing plus safe sedation options so you can relax while we take care of your teeth.
Two safe ways to eliminate anxiety
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
A light, fast-acting option breathed through a small nose mask. It eases nerves within minutes, wears off quickly, and is safe for most adults and kids. You can usually drive yourself afterward.
Oral conscious sedation
A prescribed tablet taken before your appointment for a deeper sense of calm. You’ll be awake but relaxed and may remember little of the visit. You’ll need a driver to and from the office and should rest afterward.
We do not provide IV sedation. If your case would benefit from it, we’ll coordinate care with a trusted local specialist and remain your point of contact.
Simple, monitored, and tailored to you
- Pre-visit consult: We review your health history, medications, and goals, then choose nitrous or oral sedation. You’ll receive clear instructions (when to eat/drink and when to take any pill).
- Day of treatment: We numb the area completely and begin once you’re comfortable. Throughout the visit we monitor blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation.
- Aftercare: With nitrous, you’re typically ready to resume normal activities quickly. With oral sedation, plan a quiet day and have an adult drive you home.
- Candidacy & precautions: Let us know if you’re pregnant, have sleep apnea, COPD, liver/kidney disease, or take anti-anxiety, pain, or sleep medications - we’ll tailor a safe plan and consult your physician if needed.
Will I be “asleep”?
No. With nitrous or oral sedation you’re relaxed but responsive; we still numb the area for comfort.
Can I drive after my appointment?
With nitrous, usually yes. With oral sedation, no – you’ll need a driver and should rest the remainder of the day.
Is nitrous safe for children?
Yes for most kids. We use age-appropriate dosing and monitoring and will review medical history first.
Can I use sedation for cleanings?
Absolutely. Many patients choose nitrous for routine care or longer visits.
What if I’m very anxious?
Tell us. We can pair oral sedation with nitrous for extra comfort and schedule longer, unrushed appointments.
