Porcelain Veneers in Centennial, CO
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom shells that cover the front of your teeth to improve color, shape, and symmetry. They’re a great option for chipped edges, dark staining, small gaps, and uneven teeth when whitening or bonding isn’t enough. At Holly Dental Associates, our dentists design veneers that look like you!

What porcelain veneers are (and what they do)
Thin, custom porcelain shells bond to the front of your teeth to change color, shape, and symmetry. They’re strong, stain-resistant, and designed to look like natural enamel. At Holly Dental Associates, our dentists design veneers to match your face, lip line, and bite so the result looks like your teeth.
Veneers can:
- Cover stains that whitening won’t lift (e.g., deep or tetracycline staining)
- Repair chips, worn edges, enamel defects
- Close small gaps/black triangles and even out tooth size/shape
- Camouflage minor rotation or uneven edges when full orthodontics isn’t needed
Not ideal without prep work:
- Treat any active decay or gum disease
- Large cracks or heavy wear → often safer with a crown
- Significant crowding/spacing → consider clear aligners before veneers
- Heavy grinding → veneers are possible, but you’ll need a nightguard
When veneers are the right choice
Great candidates:
- Front teeth with healthy roots and enough enamel for bonding
- 2–8 teeth visible in your smile that need a unified color/shape
- Stable bite, good home care, and realistic goals (you want natural, not “caps”)
Consider another option if:
- You mainly want whiter teeth → start with professional whitening
- One or two small chips → bonding may be simpler and less costly
- Tooth is heavily filled/cracked → onlay or crown may last longer
- Gumline is uneven → may pair veneers with a minor gum recontouring
We’ll show you photos and shade tabs, discuss goals, and recommend the least invasive plan that will achieve them.

How our porcelain veneer process works
01
Consult & preview
Photos, shade discussion, and a digital scan. We talk through goals and options (whitening, bonding, aligners vs. veneers) and share a clear estimate and timeline. If helpful, we can mock up a quick “preview” on a photo or model.
02
Conservative prep
After numbing, we minimally shape the enamel (typically ~0.3–0.7 mm) to create a seamless edge. We take precise scans and place temporary “prototype” veneers so you can test length, shape, and speech for a few days.
03
Custom craft & try-in
Our partner lab hand-layers porcelain for natural translucency and texture. When your veneers return (usually 1–3 weeks), we try them in, fine-tune shade and contour together, and only move to bonding once you love the look.
04
Bonding, bite, and follow-up
Each veneer is bonded, polished, and your bite is adjusted for comfort. You’ll get care tips and, if you clench, a nightguard to protect your new smile. We bring you back for a quick polish/check after you’ve lived in them.
Typical timeline: 2–3 visits over 1–3 weeks. We’ll confirm exact timing and costs up front, and discuss financing if needed.

Results, aftercare, longevity & cost
- Feel & function: You can talk and eat normally; avoid biting hard items (ice, pens) with veneered edges.
- Color: Porcelain doesn’t whiten—pick your shade before we start.
- Longevity: With good care, porcelain veneers often last many years; small chips are often polishable, larger damage can be repaired or replaced.
- Cost & coverage: Cosmetic care is typically not covered by insurance. We provide written estimates, accept most PPOs for any covered adjunctive care, and offer CareCredit. Our Friends & Family Discount Plan helps many patients save on non-covered services.
Do veneers look like real teeth?
Yes. We match translucency, texture, and edge anatomy so they read as “your teeth,” not dental work.
Will my teeth be shaved down?
Prep is minimal – just enough to make space and create a clean margin. In select cases, “no-prep” or ultra-minimal prep is possible; we’ll tell you if you’re a candidate.
How many veneers do I need?
Depends on your smile line. Some patients do 2–4; others choose 6–8 for full symmetry. We’ll preview both so you can decide.
Do veneers fix crooked teeth?
They can mask minor rotation or uneven edges. For bigger alignment issues, clear aligners first + fewer, thinner veneers often gives the best long-term result.
How long do veneers last?
With routine care and a nightguard for clenching, porcelain veneers can last many years. We’ll show you how to protect them.
What if a tooth is too damaged for a veneer?
We’ll recommend an onlay or crown instead to protect the tooth while keeping the look consistent with adjacent veneers.
What’s the downtime?
Most patients go back to normal routines the same day. Mild temperature sensitivity is common for a few days.
