Dental Fillings & Restorations in Centennial, CO
Fix chips, cracks, and cavities – and be comfortable while it happens. We restore teeth with natural-looking fillings, inlays/onlays, and crowns so you can get back to chewing normally again.
Why fillings & restorations are worth doing now
Small problems tend to get larger if they’re left alone and the same goes for cracks or chips in your teeth. Restoring a tooth early can save the structure of your tooth from further damage and prevent bigger issues down the road.
- Stop decay before it reaches the nerve
- Seal and strengthen cracked or worn teeth
- Relieve pain and temperature sensitivity
- Prevent larger treatment like root canals or extractions
- Blend in with your smile using tooth-colored materials
The right repair for the tooth
What happens during a filling or crown visit?
Your comfort comes first. We’ll numb the area, isolate the tooth to keep it dry, and remove only the weak or decayed enamel. Then we restore the tooth so it functions well and looks natural.
- Numbing and prep. We use a gentle anesthetic and place a small barrier to keep the tooth dry.
- Clean and shape. Decay is carefully removed and the tooth is shaped for the planned repair.
- Place the restoration - Either a Filling or Inlay/Onlay
- Check the bite and polish. We fine-tune how your teeth fit together so chewing feels natural.
We accept most dental insurance and file claims for you. No insurance? Our in-house membership helps reduce out-of-pocket costs.
When should I repair a cavity or cracked tooth?
Fixing a tooth early protects the healthy structure and keeps treatment simple. If we spot a small cavity or a fracture, we’ll talk through the best option – a tooth-colored filling, inlay/onlay, or a crown – based on the size of the damage and how you use that tooth.
- Don’t wait on “small” problems. Early repairs can prevent pain, infections, and root canals.
- Call if you notice changes. Pain with chewing, temperature sensitivity, a chip or crack, or food getting stuck are all signs a tooth needs care.
- After a filling. Light sensitivity is common for 1–2 weeks; let us know if your bite feels high or pain lingers.
- How long they last. Tooth-colored fillings often last 7–10 years; crowns 10–15+ with good home care and regular checkups
Taking care of your new filling or crown
Mild soreness or temperature sensitivity is common for a few days. Once the numbness wears off, ease back into normal chewing and let us know if anything feels “high” or uncomfortable.
- Wait for numbness to fade. Start with soft foods the first day and chew on the opposite side if needed.
- Temporary crown tips. Avoid sticky foods and slide floss out rather than pulling up. If the temporary loosens, call us and bring it in.
- Sensitivity is normal. Cold/heat or pressure sensitivity can last 1–2 weeks. Sensitive-toothpaste helps; contact us if it worsens.
- Protect your repair. Brush and floss daily, wear a nightguard if you clench, and keep regular checkups so we can monitor the restoration.
What’s the difference between a filling and a crown?
A filling repairs a small area inside the tooth. A crown covers and protects the whole tooth when there’s extensive damage or cracks.
Will my filling or crown match my teeth?
Yes. We shade-match tooth-colored materials so your repair blends in.
Does treatment hurt?
We numb the area and use gentle techniques. You may feel light pressure but should be comfortable throughout.
How long will it take?
Most fillings are completed in one visit. Crowns usually take two visits: one for preparation and a temporary, and another to place the final crown.
Do you replace old silver fillings?
If they’re leaking, cracked, or the tooth is breaking down, we’ll recommend replacement. If they’re sound, we’ll continue to monitor them.
Is it covered by insurance? What if I don’t have insurance?
Most plans help with fillings and crowns. We’ll check benefits and file claims. No insurance? Ask about our in-house membership for discounted fees.
