Anxiety-Friendly Dentistry in Centennial, CO
Breathe easy. We care for anxious patients every day with simple, proven ways to keep you comfortable – from nitrous oxide to gentle, unhurried visits.
If past dental experiences make you nervous, you’re not alone. At Holly Dental Associates, our dentists take extra time to explain, numb thoroughly, and go at your pace. We’ll agree on a hand signal, check in often, and use the least invasive approach that still protects your health.
Practical ways we lower anxiety
- Never any pressure, lectures, or judgment
- Clear hand signal so you stay in control and can pause anytime
- Extra-gentle numbing: strong topical first, slow delivery, and we wait until you’re fully numb
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for adults and kids; relaxes within minutes, wears off quickly
- Oral conscious sedation available for deeper relaxation (you’ll need a driver)
- Option for longer appointments or splitting treatment into smaller steps
- Comfort menu: headphones, blanket, neck pillow, sunglasses
- Transparent fees and a simple estimate before we start
Comfort options we can tailor to you
Your anxiety-friendly visit, step by step
Step 1: Talk & plan – We start with a quick conversation about past experiences, triggers, and what helps you. We’ll outline options and decide together how to proceed.
Step 2: Numbing & comfort setup – Topical first, then slow anesthetic. If you choose nitrous or oral sedation, we’ll begin that here. We confirm you’re fully comfortable before treatment.
Step 3: Gentle care at your pace – We work in short segments with breaks as needed. Modern instruments reduce noise and vibration, and we check in often.
Step 4: After-care & next steps – You’ll leave with written instructions, what to expect at home, and a clear plan for any follow-up. We’re a phone call away if you have questions.
Do you treat patients with severe dental anxiety?
Yes. We care for anxious patients every day and tailor visits with nitrous, oral sedation, and extra time. Tell us what’s hard for you – we’ll plan around it.
Can I drive after my appointment?
You can drive after nitrous oxide once you feel normal (usually within minutes). For oral sedation, you’ll need a licensed adult to drive you home.
Is sedation safe?
For healthy patients, nitrous and oral sedation are very safe when delivered and monitored by trained clinicians. We review your health history and medications first.
Can kids use nitrous oxide?
Often, yes. Nitrous is commonly used for children and can make short visits much easier. We’ll advise based on age, health, and the procedure.
I’m scared of needles - what can you do?
We use a strong topical anesthetic first, warm and buffer the anesthetic, and deliver it slowly. Nitrous often makes numbing much easier, too.
